Our Mission
The LaCrosse Public Library is committed to providing free and equal access to information, education, and recreational resources for all residents of La Crosse and the surrounding community. We strive to be a welcoming, inclusive space where people of all ages can learn, explore, and connect.

LCPL Community Garden & Outdoor Space
Thanks to a grant from the Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte, the LaCrosse Public Library created an outdoor space for reading, conversation, games, and gardening — open for everyone to enjoy.
The outdoor area features bookshelves stocked with books and magazines available to read, share, or trade. A table and bench are available, along with chess and checkers sets. The space is sheltered during rain and lit during evening hours.
Our garden has grown a variety of produce including tomatoes, watermelon, cucumbers, peppers, and more — all shared freely with the community. The space also features a nine-patch barn quilt created by local artist Nina Snyder, with corner and center blocks representing the five railroad lines that once crossed La Crosse.
